Ninja Fingers for iOS & Android

Ninja Fingers

– for iOS & Android

I wanted to make a game for the whole family. When making this, I was a bit tired of games that you play alone or multiplayer games you play online only. I wanted something where all the players actually sat around the tablet, and where the physical space would be a game factor.

My job was doing concept design, in-game graphics and project management.

Design by Sanna Wieslander.
Programming by Johannes Gotlén.
Sound effects by YugenStudio.
Music by El-Metallico.

Do you miss sitting around a table playing games with your friends and family? Ninja Fingers was made to bring people back together — away from separate screens and into one shared moment.

Anyone can play, at any age or skill level, because you make your own rules. It’s built for 2-4 good friends, and yes — it involves touching hands.

➤ WHAT IS NINJA FINGERS?

Ninja Fingers is about being quicker and more nimble than your opponents. Pick your favorite ninja with a tap. The round starts as soon as 2 or more players have chosen.

Your goal: touch your markers as they appear before your opponents touch theirs. You can have up to three markers on screen at once — reach one, and a new one appears to take its place.

Be first to clear your hand of markers, and two things happen: your hand is now in the way, making it harder for opponents to reach theirs — and your next marker gets a head start.

➤ YOU MAKE THE RULES

There’s no rulebook carved in stone. You and your friends decide how to play.

Questions worth asking before you start:
• Is it OK to use both hands?
• Can you lift your hand off the screen?
• Is pushing with your hand or wrist fair game?

Different rules for different players work too — a 5-year-old might get to use both hands and push, while grandpa sticks to one hand, no lifting.

➤ BEFORE YOU START

This is a 2-4 player game with no single-player mode. If your device uses edge-swipe gestures for navigation, you may want to disable them first — a fast round of Ninja Fingers can accidentally trigger a back/home swipe

➤ THE STORY

Ninja Fingers first launched in 2012, made together with my sister (who drew the characters) and a good friend (who wrote the code). It found its way onto a lot of kitchen tables and family game nights — then, over the years, quietly vanished from the app stores.

In 2026, I rebuilt it from scratch for modern devices, so new tables — and old fans — can enjoy it again.

Have fun!

Sorry David, it hasn’t been available for years on App Store, and I don’t think I have the .ipa file anywhere saved.
